おいしいパースの旅 - Malaysia (La Zat cooking school)

マレーシア編最終版。今回の旅のハイライトはマレーシア料理教室。ネットで見つけたLa Zat Cooking Schoolと数週間やり取りして予約を確保。欧米やオーストラリアからの観光客に人気でほぼ毎日予約で一杯らしい。今回は他のグループがドタキャンして、なんとプライベート・レッスンが実現。至福のひとときを過ごすことができた。

The highlight of my KL trip was a private lesson at La Zat Cooking School. La Zat is extremely popular among European/Australian tourists. It took me several weeks to secure a spot. Well, La Zat was my idea of heaven.


La Zat provides transfer services from/to hotels in KL. It is located in a quiet residential area, 20 minutes from KL city centre. La Zat grows herbs, spices and ginger at its property.

Zai, the chef, and her team, always welcome their guests with lovely smile upon arrival. The class starts after a tour of the facility.  An apron and recipe books were provided and all ingredients were measured and prepared in advance to make most of the cooking experience.
Zai provides demonstration first before letting me try by myself.

I made an entree dish first which I sampled while cooking main and dessert. Dish of the day is Nasi Lemak - Malaysia's national food, and prawn sambal.
At the end of the class, students can sample their own dishes at outdoor terrace.

I highly recommend you to take a class at La Zat.
